I have finally been going through and cleaning up my blog a bit. I figured out how to look at all of my blog comments at once and I noticed a lot of comments about Michelle Phan.
If you don't know who she is, she is essentially the most popular beauty/make-up youtuber out there. Because of her youtube success, she is now the (paid) internet face of Lancome. She is represented as a make up artist with Jed Root. She gets magazine and press coverage on what seems like a weekly basis. What irks me the most about Michelle Phan is her lack of research. This is why I made those "Michelle Phan is Wrong" videos. I just felt that she often misinforms her LARGE audience (which she is getting crap for now ala circle lenses), so I decided to make my own videos. At the time, that was my only qualm about MP. I still looked up to her as I want to gain her level of success and popularity (but with a twist --- I want to be transparent & educational). Here's one video I made where I disagree with MP about "fast makeup". Innocent enough, right?
So I'm Not a Hater. I never had a reason to be a "MP hater". I just wished she'd be more thorough with information given she has a skin care line and nearly 1 million subbies. After several failed attempts to contact MP (for an interview), I decided to research her life on my own. I wanted to know what was that "it" factor that made her successful so I could get some, as well! The more I dug up about her, the more saddened I had become. Then, I found a site called guru gossip and then Michellephail. I felt like I had been foolishly treating MP as an idol. She's just a girl. She's not any better than me (or you) no matter how much she gets paid per video or for working with Lancome. She's not any smarter or more experienced. She's just popular on youtube.
Let's just say, I'm not a "huge fan" anymore. But I still admire her success and use some of her tips! But now that I know what I know about her, I can stop wasting time gushing over her and spend more time with people I can actually learn from.
Up next! I investigate Hair pills. I think they might be necessary.

No offense but, michellephail is obviously a hater and thus makes up stupid stuff or maybe has no life and thats why she goes around bashing michelle phan and stuff. As for the claim that michelle's IQQU series is not FDA approved, it IS. If it wasnt, then IQQU wouldnt even be able to be sold now.
